Canteen and Dance


6-10 p.m. Saturday, November 22 at the Montgomery Senior Center, Bridge Street

Join us for a night of music by the Jazz Pioneers along with dancing, food and beverages – just like the USO Canteens held during World War II. Come dressed in your 1940s finery or military uniform! There will be prizes, too!!!




Meet the Jazz Pioneers, a non-traditional Big Band in Poughkeepsie, New York. We combine the classical swing sounds of Tommy Dorsey and Count Basie with music from visionaries like Buddy Rich and Maynard Ferguson, as well as more modern artists like Billy Joel and Brian Setzer. Throw in some jazzed-up arrangements of popular songs and a few other surprises, and you've got the idea!
